FAS Supports Darke County Center for the Arts “Barbeque and Blues” Fundraiser
FAS was proud to be one of the supporters of the 2016 “Barbecue and Blues” concert; the yearly fundraising event that kicks off the Darke County Center for the Arts season. This year’s event was held on Friday, July 15 at Turtle Creek Golf Course in Greenville Ohio.
Local musicians Erin Higgins and Jeff Madewell were first to the stage, performing their signature blend of roots, blues, country, and classic rock. Jay Jesse Johnson, blues guitar virtuoso from Indiana, followed Higgins and Madewell and entertained the crowd for the evening.
“Barbecue and Blues,” supports DCCA's Arts In Education programming and helps underwrite their Family Theatre Series. Arts In Education performances are presented annually to students in every grade of all local public schools at no charge to the students. DCCA strives to keep tickets as accessible as possible, and because of these fundraising events, has maintained the incredibly low admission price of $5 for The Family Theatre Series shows.
FAS is proud to support Darke County Center for the Arts as an important local center of cultural enrichment and arts education for the community.
